Modern Healthcare is pleased to announce that it has been honored with the prestigious Peter Lisagor Award for Exemplary Journalism from the Chicago Headline Club, which is the Chicago chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
Managing Editor Neil McLaughlin won Best News Column or Commentary for Specialty/Trade Publications for his three editorials:
“Sound familiar?” (Jan. 24, 2011, p. 22), on the House of Representatives' vote to repeal the health reform law;
“Don't darken U.S. health” (July 18, 2011, p. 18), on the deficit-reduction debate and healthcare; and
“Pricey healthcare” (Sept. 26, 2011, p. 17), on the high price of U.S. healthcare versus that of other countries.
It's the second consecutive year McLaughlin has won a Lisagor Award for editorial writing.
We graciously accept the award as further recognition of Modern Healthcare as the industry's leading source of healthcare business news, opinion and information.
