API Healthcare, Hartford, Wis., has acquired Concerro, a San Diego-based provider of cloud-based software for healthcare staffing and scheduling systems.

Financial terms weren't disclosed. Officials from API, which develops workforce management technology centered on healthcare, said that adding the software-as-a-service resources of Concerro will broaden API's customer base of critical-access hospitals, home-health providers, retail clinics and long-term-care facilities.

"This strategic move allows us to leverage a larger number of talented, diverse and clinically based staff to deliver the high quality of service that separates API Healthcare from our competitors," J.P. Fingado, API president and CEO, said in a news release (PDF).

API's office in Wisconsin will continue to serve as the company's headquarters.
