Healthways, a Nashville-based disease-management and wellness company, has named Peter Choueiri president of its international organization. Choueiri joined Healthways International in 2011 as COO, according to a company
news release. He succeeds Matthew Kelliher, who had led international operations since 2004 and retired at the end of 2011.
The company—which designs phone-based, Web-based, mail-based and in-person interventions for chronic illnesses—was recently awarded several large international contracts, including one by the Australian government for its publicly funded severe-chronic-disease support program.
"Peter's new role as president of international will both position us for expansion into new countries and drive operational excellence across our current markets in Western Europe, Australia and Brazil," said Ben Leedle, Healthways' president and CEO, said in the release.
Choueiri will be based in Munich.
