Steward Health Care System said the Manet Community Health Center in North Quincy, Mass., will join the 10-hospital system's physician network.
A Steward spokesman said the organizations are not disclosing financial terms of the agreement.
The affiliation will provide Manet Community Health Center with support for a five-year period, which will be used to upgrade the health IT infrastructure; expand outreach, language interpretation and translation and patient navigation services; and advance care and wellness programs that manage and prevent chronic diseases, a news release said.
Steward's support will also be used to help the community health center increase the size of its primary care \practice site at Quincy Medical Center. Steward completed its
acquisition of the 116-bed Quincy Medical Center in October.
“We believe our new affiliation with Steward will improve communications and delivery of services across all aspects of a patient's care, from primary care to specialists to hospital and home care,” said Manet CEO Henry Tuttle in the news release. “The bottom line will be more responsive, coordinated services for our patients.”
Manet Community Health has five practice locations in Hough's Neck, Hull, North Quincy, Quincy Medical and Snug Harbor and about 14,000 patients, according to the news release. The community health center will have a leadership position on the boards of the Steward Health Care Network and Quincy Medical Center.
