HCA completed its acquisition of Galichia Heart Hospital, an 82-bed hospital in Wichita, Kan.
Wesley Medical Center, a 524-bed hospital in Kansas that is also owned by HCA, announced that a nonbinding letter of intent to
acquire the physician-owned heart hospital had been signed in December 2010. Dr. Joseph Galichia founded the hospital in 2001.
“The addition of Galichia Heart Hospital is a great complement to our existing operations and patient services in Wichita,” said
Jeffrey Dorsey, president of HCA's continental division (PDF), in a news release.
Nashville-based HCA has not disclosed financial terms of the deal.
