Regarding "AMA chief asks Boehner to stop ICD-10": Interesting article and plea but really this is not a new expectation. The World Health Organization, which technically owns the system, initiated it in 1993 and the first country went online in 1994.
By 2007, over 100 countries were on the system and about 10 outliers remain. We are one. Not sure the message but if we expect to be the leader in healthcare, do we need to be the last guys getting on the bus?
