Ascension Health, which this year reorganized to create a new parent company for the nation's largest not-for-profit care provider, continues to reshuffle personnel with the announcement of a new team of administrators, according to a news release.
The St. Louis-based company, which runs 76 hospitals across the country, split into two and created the
Ascension Health Alliance on Jan. 1, which focuses on support services and subsidiaries to management. That leaves Ascension Health dominion over hospital operations and healthcare delivery. The ages of the new appointments weren't provided.
Charles Barnett, 65, takes over as president of healthcare operations and COO for Ascension Health. He served as Texas/Missouri Ministry Market Leader with Ascension Health, and is taking a leave of absence from his role as president and CEO of Seton Healthcare family in Austin, Texas.
Eric Engler, 41, was named senior vice president of strategic planning and development. He's been with Ascension since 2001, and worked as director of financial planning and analysis for Reuters and Bridge Information Systems.
Dr. Ziad Haydar, 49, was named senior vice president for clinical excellence and Ascension Health's chief medical officer. He joined Ascension in 2010 serving as vice president, clinical excellence and physician integration.
Christine McCoy, 42, takes over as senior vice president of legal services and Ascension Health's general counsel. She'll continue to lead the company's risk management function, and has been with Ascension since 2004.
Ascension Health also made the following appointments: Juli Shields, 49, chief compliance officer, continuing as vice president of legal services and as associate general counsel; Challis Lowe, senior vice president of organizational development and human resources; Stephen LeResche, 59, vice president of communications; Sr. Maureen McGuire, 65, senior vice president of mission integration. McGuire also serves as executive vice president of integration for Ascension Health Alliance.
This month, Ascension Health named Robert Henkel, 57, as its CEO, succeeding Anthony Tersigni, now the president and chief executive officer of the Alliance. Henkel was the president of healthcare operations and COO for Ascension Health.
