Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, according to an IMS Health spokesman.

IMS Health will gain access to PharmARC's key opinion analytics, social-media monitoring capabilities and software engineering expertise through the acquisition, according to a news release. The Danbury, Conn.-based company currently has analytics and delivery sites in Bangalore, China and Bangladesh.

"Life-sciences companies are looking for partners that can pull together the right market and technology expertise, information assets and resources to help them optimize commercial operations worldwide," Chris Nickum, president of IMS commercial effectiveness services, said in the release.

IMS Health closed in October (PDF) on a previously announced deal to acquire SDI Health, a Plymouth Meeting, Pa.-based provider of healthcare analytics.
