The e-prescribing tutorial compares the value of electronic prescriptions with that of handwritten prescriptions and identifies opportunities to improve medication management and patient convenience, according to a news release. The pre-visit tutorial shows how to structure information that patients may need before they arrive, and the point-of-care documentation lesson explains the types and formats of information that should be entered during a visit.

"Physician practices may need to redesign and reorganize their office routines so that they can successfully and efficiently adopt health IT," AMA President Dr. Peter Carmel said in the release.
