Modern Healthcare is seeking nominations for the 10th annual CEO IT Achievement Awards competition.

The 2012 award, co-sponsored by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, honors one or more healthcare industry CEOs who demonstrate leadership and commitment to using information technology to advance their organizations' goals. CEOs from provider organizations, including hospitals, health systems, health insurers, physician groups, clinics and post-acute-care providers are eligible for the award. CEOs from healthcare vendors and suppliers are not eligible.

Entries can be submitted starting Jan. 16 on ModernHealthcare.com. The submission deadline is March 23. A panel of CEOs and chief information officers will judge the competition. Modern Healthcare will announce the winner or winners in the April 16 issue of Modern Healthcare, and award recipients will be profiled in a special section in the June 11 issue.

A total of 23 CEOs have received the award since the recognition program began in 2003. The 2011 competition drew 26 entries, with three CEOs being chosen as award winners.
