SXC Health Solutions Corp., a pharmacy benefit manager and health information technology provider for the PBM industry, closed its acquisition of HealthTrans on Jan. 1.
SXC Health Solutions had announced its intention to acquire HealthTrans, a Denver-based middle-market PBM service company, in November for $250 million in cash.
"We are excited to close our acquisition of HealthTrans and bring its services and talent into the SXC fold," said SXC Health Solutions Chairman and CEO Mark Thierer in a
news release (PDF). "We believe that the combined strength of the two companies will help fuel SXC's continued growth."
The Lisle, Ill.-based company also
acquired PTRx, a PBM, and SaveDirectRx, a mail-order pharmacy provider, last year.
