HCA, Nashville, has chosen Parallon Business Solutions as the name of its new subsidiary to sell services to other healthcare providers, according to an HCA
news release. HCA announced its
plan to start the new subsidiary in February as part of a management restructuring.
The announcement also provided details about the units within Parallon and what services they will offer. The business performance group will sell revenue-cycle management, payroll, health information management and physician credentialing services. HCA has sold some revenue-cycle management services since 2006 with its National Patient Accounts Services subsidiary. Parallon also will include a workforce management unit that builds on the company's own supplemental staffing organization. A supply chain unit also builds on HCA's existing supply-chain management and will provide outsourcing, consulting and management services.
Parallon also will offer the services of HealthTrust Purchasing Group, a group purchasing organization of which HCA is both the majority shareholder and the managing partner.
As announced previously, Beverly Wallace will be president of Parallon Business Solutions. Wallace formerly was president of HCA's shared services group.
