President and CEO of the Catholic Health Association since 2005, Keehan has worked in administrative and executive positions at hospitals sponsored by Daughters of Charity for more than 35 years. In addition to serving as board chair of Ascension Health's Sacred Heart System, Pensacola, Fla., she also was president and CEO of Providence Hospital and served in leadership positions at several other hospitals. Keehan has spent the past year in the spotlight—Time listed her as No. 22 on their list of the world's most influential people last year; on the other end of the spectrum, she has come under fire since the CHA endorsed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. She also received one of 21 pens President Barack Obama used to sign the bill into law.
