Representing employers on national health policy issues, the not-for-profit NBGH includes mostly Fortune 500 companies and large public-sector employers. The group, formerly known as the Washington Business Group on Health, started in 1974 and offers members solutions to healthcare issues, as well as the opportunity to exchange ideas about best practices in health benefits management. The group also conducts surveys on the trends among employees and employers. Initiatives by the NBGH include partnerships with HHS, as well as finding solutions to healthcare benefit costs, innovation in workplace wellbeing and benefit design.
