Modern Healthcare is seeking nominations for its ninth annual CEO IT Achievement Award competition. The 2011 award, co-sponsored by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, honors one or more healthcare industry CEOs who demonstrate leadership and commitment to using information technology to advance their healthcare organizations' goals.
CEOs from provider organizations, including hospitals, health systems, health insurers, physician groups and clinics, and post-acute-care providers are eligible for the award. CEOs from healthcare vendors and suppliers are not eligible.
Entries can be submitted starting Jan. 17 on
ModernHealthcare.com. The submission deadline is March 18. A panel of CEOs and chief information officers will judge the competition. The magazine will announce the winner or winners in the April 18 issue of
Modern Healthcare, and award recipients will be profiled in a special section in the June 13 issue.
A total of 20 CEOs have received the award since the recognition program's inception in 2003. The 2010 competition drew 82 entries, with two CEOs being chosen as award winners.
