Just a day after
rebranding itself, the Clinical Documentation Industry Association announced that its CEO will step down.
Peter Preziosi will leave the organization formerly known as the Medical Industry Transcription Association on March 31, according to a message from CDIA board Chairman Noel Bambrough and Barb Marques, president of the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity, posted on a
blog for AHDI members.
“CDIA is sorry to see Peter leave, but we wish him well as he moves on to other opportunities,” Bambrough said in the message. “His leadership and tireless efforts on behalf of our organizations have been critical to redefining our goals and reshaping our future as we adapt to a rapidly changing healthcare environment.”
Preziosi said in a letter to AHDI and CDIA members that he is leaving to pursue broader opportunities in health information technology “at a critical point in the evolution of the U.S. healthcare delivery system.” A steering committee of the associations' boards will search for Preziosi's replacement, according to the AHDI and CDIA message.
