Jeffrey Rivest, president and CEO of the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, discusses how his hospital has made it onto the Leapfrog Group's top hospitals list in each of the five years that the group has ranked hospitals. The University of Maryland Medical Center and Virginia Mason Health System in Seattle are the only two hospitals to earn the distinction in all five years. Rivest was interviewed on Nov. 30 at the Leapfrog Group's 10th anniversary gala by Jessica Zigmond, Modern Healthcare's Washington bureau chief.
