The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has awarded a prime contract to support its information technology infrastructure to defense and national intelligence agency contractor CACI International, Arlington, Va., according to a news release from CACI.

The 10-year contract for an undefined quantity of IT infrastructure work reportedly has an upper-end value of $1 billion, according to the company.

CACI will help the CDC provide "close to real-time gathering of health information, developing analytic tools for scientists, and enhancing public health and community collaboration," according to the release.
