Normal shift operations resumed at Baton Rouge (La.) General Medical Center's Mid City hospital after a shooting left two hospital visitors hurt, including one visitor with life-threatening injuries.
In a news release, the hospital said shots were fired “as a result of a purported domestic dispute” that led to a four-hour lockdown of the hospital. No employees or patients were injured in the shooting, according to the hospital.
Bill Holman, the hospital’s president and CEO, thanked employees for responding appropriately and praised the efforts of the Baton Rouge Police Department for their “very fast and strong response to the situation and for dedicating so many officers to the response.”
Police were looking for a 36-year-old man in connection with the shooting, the hospital said.
