Modern Healthcare announced this year's 100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare recognition program—our ninth annual—in the April 5 issue of the magazine. From April 5 through May 7, readers nominated candidates via ModernHealthcare.com.
This year, readers submitted just under 56,000 nominations, more than double the nearly 25,700 last year.
Modern Healthcare then placed the 300 people who received the most nominations on the final ballot, also posted on the website.
From May 24 through June 25, readers visited the site to vote for the 10 candidates they believe should make the final list of the 100 Most Powerful. Readers submitted about 81,100 ballots with a total of just under 811,000 votes cast—a 56% increase compared with nearly 52,000 ballots last year. The 100 people who received the most votes made the final list with the ranking determined by number of votes received. The magazine reserved the right to resolve voting irregularities.
