Skilled-nursing provider Advocat has appointed David Houghton as the Brentwood, Tenn.-based company's chief information officer, effective May 24.
Houghton, 41, has worked in healthcare, technology and consulting for the past 20 years, beginning his career at Scott & White Healthcare in Temple, Texas, before starting at AT&T, according to a news release from Advocat. He has worked as a Nashville-based consultant for the past 10 years and has provided CIO advisory services to Advocat, where he has worked recently on a contract basis.
Advocat has 46 skilled-nursing centers, located mostly in the Southeast and Southwest.
