San Juan Regional Medical Center, Farmington, N.M., has named Rick Wallace as the hospital's new president and CEO. Wallace, 57, succeeds Steve Altmiller, who resigned from the position in July 2009 to become president of North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Wallace began Feb. 8.
Previously, Wallace had been the CEO of St. Mary's Medical Center in Enid, Okla. “I am pleased to be joining a progressive, community hospital like San Juan Regional Medical Center,” Wallace said in a written statement about his new role. “It is a true community hospital with a regional focus, and I look forward to being part of an institution so dedicated to excellent patient care.”
The hospital—which employs more than 1,600—conducted a nationwide search for the position.
