The Health Information Trust, or HITrust, a coalition led by major health insurance companies, manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers of prescription drugs, information technology developers and provider organizations, has announced the formation of what it is calling the Leadership Roundtable to “support the growing role of the healthcare chief information security officer in handling computerized healthcare information,” according to a news statement.
Participation, however, will be limited to the information security executives at 60 organizations from healthcare, professional services, technology and information security organizations, the statement said.
The
group’s executive council includes leaders from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Tennessee, Cisco Systems, CVS Caremark, HCA, Highmark, Humana, Johnson & Johnson, Kaiser Permanente, McKesson Corp., Philips and UnitedHealth Group.
