While President Obama isn’t likely to get everything he called for in his proposals during the campaign, look for the U.S. to inch closer to a form of universal coverage. First out of the gates is another economic stimulus package, with a bill expected to contain about $25 billion in funding for health information technology and billions more for Medicaid and possibly the State Children’s Health Insurance Plan.
