Four prominent healthcare leaders talk about labor issues in an exclusive roundtable discussion moderated by Modern Healthcare Editor David Burda and Managing Editor Neil McLaughlin. The roundtable guests were: Gary Filerman, chairman of the Health Systems Administration Department at Georgetown University in Washington; David Hefner, president of the University of Chicago Medical Center; Geri Jenkins, a registered nurse and co-president of the California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee; and Bruce Stickler, a healthcare labor attorney and partner with the law firm Drinker, Biddle & Reath in Chicago. Hear what they have to say about quality of care, pay and benefits, mandated staffing ratios, proposed changes to federal labor law, and more. The roundtable discussion was held Oct. 6 at Modern Healthcare's offices in Chicago.
