Doc wants off Big Pharma's radar

In response to reader comments on Joseph Conn's "Data-miners unite in Maine to block 'opt-out' Rx law":

It is a decent effort on the part of Terry Nugent to put a positive spin on Big Pharma's nefarious activities.

I have never heard of the American Medical Association’s opt-out list for allowing prescribing information to be sold to the pharmaceutical industry. I would like to know how to access this so that I can get my name off the Big Pharma's tracking list. If indeed this is true and the AMA is selling information to the Big Pharma without expressed consent of the doctors, it may make a good case for class-action lawyers against the AMA. They will have most doctors supporting this. I will certainly think twice before renewing my AMA membership.

The drug prices in the U.S. are totally unregulated. They are anywhere from 100% to 300% above the prices even in developed countries. The least the doctors and public should demand is the iron-fist regulation of the Big Pharma. In the case of Big Pharma, past actions certainly predict future behavior.
