It is the expectation of The Board of Trustees of the organization that each leader support the mission, vision and breakthrough goals of the organization. Each leader will be responsible for demonstrating core leadership competencies that include: Strategic leadership to create alignment to the goals and strategies of the organization, the capacity to make strategic decisions to improve the organizations performance, the ability to influence the appropriate constituencies to gain the commitment of individuals and teams through either direct or indirect management responsibility and the coaching and development of these same teams and individuals to perform to their highest level of potential. Each leader must bring a strong business/industry perspective to develop programs and resolve business issues that ensures the organization is successful in meeting its long and short term goals. The ability to communicate effectively in various mediums and adjust language and presentation to capture the attention of various audiences is central to success in this role.
Each leader will be responsible for demonstrating core continuous improvement competencies to ensure the appropriate focus is placed on managing the necessary processes within his/her functional area to support the strategies, sets expectations within his/her area that problem solving should result in the identification of root causes and countermeasures to permanently eliminate the problem and supports the organizations culture of continuous improvement through the lens of providing quality patient care and a strong customer focus.

Position Summary
Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining strategic plans required to support the growth and profitability of the company. Responsible for developing new business and strategic partnerships, identifying and negotiating merger and acquisition opportunities, overseeing development of products and services, leading strategic planning and guiding all marketing and public relations activities. Accountable for translating the strategic plan of the organization to specific, prioritized initiatives. This includes the development, planning, direction and evaluation of systems, standards, philosophy, and objectives consistent with the organizations goals and objectives and quality improvement process. Fosters a culture that is responsive to the changing marketplace, values the customer, respects diversity, is cost-effective and productive in its delivery of services to all patients, and acknowledges the achievements of staff.
Works collaboratively with executive colleagues to deliver superior business results of growth, profit and retention while being a role model and mentor for the organization.
Communicates the mission and vision of the organization and provide leadership by example in promoting the organization culture of collaboration, teamwork, participation, acknowledgement and integrity.
Position Responsibilities
Conducts a strategic review of the companys existing business portfolio in order to define and prioritize the potential acquisition / merger / joint venture / divestiture activities that are required to achieve its growth and profitability objectives.
Strategically plans, conceptualizes and implements multi-faceted business development plans to maximize existing lines of business as well as new growth opportunities.
Identifies potential organizations for merger or acquisition to expand existing business.
Supports due-diligence and post-merger integration efforts through financial modeling, project planning and research/market analysis.
Develops operational and financial models for strategic planning, staffing, pricing and sales pipeline forecasting.
Conducts market penetration, marketing sizing / analysis and research studies to drive strategic and product planning processes.
Provides strategic guidance and counsel on potential acquisitions, joint ventures, alliances and licensing relationships.
Drives the development of an effective competitive / market intelligence function.
Leads negotiations, when applicable.
Ensures marketing and product development activities are in-line with overall business development goals.
Provides financial and strategic support to assess a business units costs/profits and operating structure.
Supports the President & CEO, Board of Trustees and others on a variety of special business development related projects.
Develops and maintains external relationships with regulators, elected officials and key trade associations (public relations presence).
Pursues the development and improvement of strategic partnerships, relationships and alliances.
Develops and recommends the operating and capital budgets for the areas managed. Manages activities to assure financial goals are met. Monitors expenditures for compliance to approved budget. Resolves discrepancies.
Directs and supervises assigned personnel including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training. Makes recommendations on employee hire, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and other similar actions. Resolves grievances and other personnel problems within position responsibilities. Direct reports include the Directors of Marketing and Network Development.
Coordinates the assignment of tasks and helps resolve technical and operational problems. Evaluates the impact of solutions to ensure goals are achieved.
Provides effective direction, guidance, and leadership over the staff for effective teamwork and motivation, and fosters the effective integration of efforts with healthcare services initiatives.
Participates in performance improvement initiatives.
Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies such as DPH, etc. Develops and maintains procedures necessary to meet regulatory requirements.
Ensures that assigned area comply with clinic established policies, quality assurance programs, safety, and infection control policies and procedures.
Focuses on new business opportunities and develops existing ones further.
Position Qualifications
Masters degree and 7 or more years relevant experience preferred in a senior leadership role in a clinic or medical group practice setting.
Proven successful track record leading strategy and business development in a healthcare or related industry. Ability to impact decisions and outcomes through collaboration influence. Ability to work as part of a team in an environment that demands excellence. Ability to build strong relationships, fostering cooperation, motivation, process sophistication and build trust with potential acquisition / merger and joint venture candidates. Demonstrated project management skills. Excellent leadership skills. Demonstrated financial modeling skills. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
